Getting our weddings published is always an honor, and to be published in one of my favorite magazines is the ultimate reward. When Occasions magazine expanded from Georgia to include the Florida market I was so excited. And then when I saw they also include the Caribbean I knew that Sam & Jenny’s wedding would be a perfect fit. This wedding has had quite the submissions journey. We shot Sam & Jenny’s wedding in The Bahamas in November of 2012, and I had a completely different magazine ask to publish it and then sit on it for an entire year. Sometimes this happens when submitting. It’s an awesome wedding, they could’t fit it in I guess, but didn’t want to give it up and so it sat in limbo. Well I had already kept this wedding off our blog and our website for so long that I wasn’t going to let it never get published. It just deserved to be in print. So I asked for it to be released and resubmitted it to Occasions. It took them about 2 days to accept it for print for their Summer issue. Yippee! I am so thankful to Occasions for picking this wedding up, and of course to Sam & Jenny for bringing us to The Bahamas with them to capture their amazingly gorgeous wedding. Now that the issue is out, I will be blogging all the pink and orange tropical goodness within the next few weeks! In the meantime, you should all rush out and get a copy of this gorgeous magazine. This is absolutely my favorite issue yet, and I just love what it has to offer brides in the way of inspiration.
Oh, did you guys see Evan’s name on the luggage tag escort card? Love that this image got included in our feature! All of the submitting for this wedding was done using Two Bright Lights, a platform for photographers and vendors to submit to magazines and blogs all over the world. Not all editorials use it, but many do and it makes the process simple and organized for me. One of the amazing things about Occasions is they also have a blog where they shared Sam & Jenny’s wedding so we got some great online exposure as well.
