“50 Shades of Blue” as Marsha Ann Brown so eloquently put it. The water surrounding the Bahamas is turquoise perfection and surely my favorite color for a reason. I’ve been seeing our press trip to The Bahamas pop up on lots of the Aisle Society network blogs so I thought it would be a good time to share our brief behind the scenes. Plus we are leaving for a quick island trip tomorrow so I’m in an umbrella drink and boat mood for sure!
The ladies of Aisle Society and Sandals Royal Bahamian graciously brought us to Nassau in February to help cover the very first press retreat for the Aisle Society bloggers. Brandi of Alexis June Weddings was there as the photographer and Evan and I came along to shoot cinema (fun fact: not something we ever do for weddings but Evan has done freelance film & video editing for 10 years). We had such an epic time meeting editors that we have worked with for years and finally seeing them in person and hanging out and drinking in the jacuzzi with them- that’s how you make solid editorial relationships, y’all! Sandals was so accommodating, we have the most incredible room and view, welcome goodies, and ate the best food of any trip I think we’ve ever taken. Evan and I wrapped our 4 days in paradise up with a sailing lesson and ride along the turquoise water. Oh and still one of the best things about traveling in and out of Nassau is they have a Kahwa coffee (based in St. Pete) right in the airport! So we get a taste of home while we’re away.
Aisle Society is something we really believe in and it was such an honor to be part of this trip with these editors that we respect so much. And it;s 10 times more fun submitting to them now because we have great stories to reminisce about, haha! I sure hope we get to head to another Sandals sometime soon- it’s my dream to stay in an over water bungalow and Sandals Jamaica just opened the first ones in the Caribbean!
These last images are from the soiree the last night on Sandals’ private island- they there us the best party with fire performers and everything. Brandi snagged fantastic portraits of us too! I’m telling ya, friction’ paradise!
