They say weird things happen in the Bermuda Triangle, right? Well this is forever going to be one of my favorite stories. I always read on planes- I have intense focus and determination to learn and read books when I’m traveling and I usually get through at least one whole book on each leg of a flight. Something I often bring with me is Professional Photographer- it’s a monthly industry magazine that I look up to tremendously. Well for our Bahamas trip this week, I packed the most recent issue with me to read on the plane. We were most of the way to Nassau (since it’s like a 20 minute flight from Florida) and flying somewhere in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle as I like to picture us. I got all the way through each article when I get to one of the last pages and see… my face. I was shocked. It was an entire page about ME. Cue panic attack. Then I conjured up words to try and get Evan’s attention and he basically said “oh yeah there’s a camera just like yours….” No sweetheart, that’s your wife. Then it sunk in and it took everything for me to now yell at everyone on the plane and scare everyone. So I just stared at myself in the magazine. #humblephotographer
It’s always a goal of mine to get our work published frequently, but it was like a ten year goal for me to be published here. The top photographers in the world write articles for Professional Photographer so I’ve decided to stop downplaying the accomplishment because I’m really proud of myself and it really is a big deal to me.
Here’s the pdf version so you can read the interview. And many thanks to my dear friend Jessica Charles for taking this photo of me at a styled shoot a little over a year ago.
