I’ve been looking forward to this wedding day so much. I just got along with these two the second we talked on the phone. City Hall and Courthouse weddings are usually smaller and simpler but I love them just the same. They planned a beautiful day that included dinner with their friends to celebrate following their ceremony at the county courthouse. I met them at their beautiful new home in downtown St. Pete where they got ready together and we were able to get a few portraits with their fur-babies before we headed off to Central Avenue. Erin & Bradley wanted to focus on portraits for the time they had me and we hit some of the really fun murals and some other spots downtown, including Emerald Bar. This was a meaningful portrait because it’s the first place that Bradley and Erin’s Mom sat down had a great conversation together and it was an important moment for them. What a special photo series that will be for Erin’s mom.
A dress with a floral design, Bradley’s navy suit, it was all perfection. Yes, the details were beautiful- of course they were! Belle Fleur did the bouquets and there were stunning. And I love using objects from couples’ homes as props for detail shots. Their ring shot was taken on a vintage map of Paris from their wall. But the great things about this event was that what mattered most to these guys was their vows, celebrating with their friends, and great portraits they’ll cherish forever. And in those ways, this was just like all the beautiful events we shoot. I’m so honored to have captured this day for them, just looking around their home it’s so apparent how important art is to these two.
Then we went into the courthouse to get our number! And we waited, and it was actually pretty suspenseful in a funny way. Every time they went to call a number everyone got excited, haha.
